Unite Calling Introduction

Unite Calling is a fully automated Microsoft Teams Direct Routing solution that eliminates high deployment costs, lengthy installation timelines and the need for specialist technical capabilities.

Requiring no infrastructure setup or manual configuration, United Calling enables Teams Direct Routing to be deployed in a matter of minutes.

The hybrid platform removes the need for a self-managed session border controller (SBC). Instead, Unite Calling connects to an upstream, carrier-grade, geo-redundant SBC, linking your own Teams Direct Routing solution to the PSTN.

The platform provides real-time control without the need for PowerShell - and by extension, specialised knowledge and training – thus offering an intuitive, enterprise-grade application to leverage your Teams product for the end-user.


What is direct routing?

Direct Routing refers to the process of routing Microsoft Teams to the PSTN (traditional phone network). Although Teams is mainly used as an internal communications tool, Microsoft has developed a way for the platform to be used as a business phone system (PBX).

Direct Routing allows you to connect up Teams using Unite Calling from your service provider.

Direct Routing is seen as extremely attractive by a variety of businesses as it gives them the true flexibility of choosing their own telephony provider, but as direct routing is through certified Microsoft Partners, retain a verified integration with the Teams platform.
